The BSD Presents: 70s Skater Fashion

The BSD's been busy lately, drinking himself into submission, listening to James Carr's Dark End of the Street, and relentlessly petitioning the local government to allow him to open a member's only gentlemen's club (and by "gentlemen's", the BSD in no way means there will be strippers, only very beautiful, slightly hipster young ladies intent on acquiring college degrees so they can feed their Billyburg-gotten illegitimate children).

The BSD is a man of means, a man of the world, a man of the bottle, and a man of advanced ideas. Yet sometimes in the course of human action, it becomes necessary to examine our collective past.

In this case, 1970's skateboarding fashion seems to be subtly percolating the very nethers of current street "fashion". Hints are creeping in amongst collections both here and abroad, so we must take inventory of what we may be seeing in the near future. The kids get it.

After intense research and substantial inebriation, I have come to deeply appreciate Tony Alva. That dude was all ego. And with hair like that, who can argue.

This was seen outside of the recent Spurr presentation during NY Fashion Week. Digging his Vans. The BSD has those in red. Seriously.

Look at the hair. Notice also barely visible mustache, lurking above his upper lip like a pedophile in a green van parked around the corner from your house.

Also, I feel like digging on the headband right now. With hair nearly tickling the BSD's chin, headbands may be in order, but only fashionable ones (read: black, rock inspired).

His hair is like head pubes.

Yes, the rebel spirit needs to rage against the socio-economic machine which has landed us currently in a veritable two-girls-one-economy situation.

Though I didn't really make an argument, I'd like to conclude by saying I can get into some of this, and mostly due to the Fuck You attitude. I feel that, but homelessness (as a style influencer) will never be fashionable.

Lector: The Word of the BSD.

All: Thanks be to BSD.

Next up: The BSD is going to Approve some shit and your sister is going to give me her number.
